Setting Up Your Site

There are several steps in taking your site from the initial contact with to the final site displayed with your domain name.  This page is an outline of the process to guide you through all the steps, and help you know where you are in the development process with us.

Step 1 - Determine which plan to use

The Client should determine first how large a site they want to start with and choose the plan that fits the desired site.  This might seem a little difficult, but there are a couple of things you can do that will make it easier.

First, take a look at other sites that are similar to the site you will have.  Jot down names of any pages that you would like to have in your own site.  This should give you a good starting place.

Next, take a few minutes to brainstorm about your own business or organization.  Is there something you would like to say that isn't on the list already?

From this quick excersise, you should have a rough idea of how many pages your site might need.  Now take a look at the pages for commercial sites, ministry sites, or club and organization sites to select your plan.

If you need help in any of these steps, please don't hesitate to contact us

Step 2 - Contract and initial payment will prepare a contract and an invoice for the initial payment and send two signed copies of the contract to you.  Please sign one of the contracts and return it with your initial payment.

Step 3 - Provide information to start design process will provide a list of sample sites and design tools to the Client.  These design tools are for selection of things like colors and fonts. The whole design process can take several different paths.  Please visit our design process page for more information.

Step 4 - Secure domain name

If you do not already have a domain name, will purchase your domain for you.  Please see our domain registration page for more information.

Step 5 - Client review design information and return design parameters

The client should review the information given to them in step 3 to determine the basic parameters for their site.  This would be things like column layouts, page width, color schemes, menu types, etc.

The client may provide a template from their existing site that will modify to fit our Content Management System.

The client may also provide a template that they have secured from another vendor.

Step 6A - design site

If your design requirements are not complex, or you already have graphic elements that are ready to be placed into a template, then we can design your site.  Upon completion of the design, one or more options will be made available to the client for their review and comment.

Step 6B - Graphic designer designs the site

It is possible that you may want to have a professional graphic designer work with you to design your site. does not have these capabilities in house at this time, but we work with some graphic designers who may be able to meet your needs.

If this is the case, we will place you in contact with a designer, and they will contract with you directly for design fees. will work with the designer to ensure that the design is compatable with our Content Management System.

Upon completion of the design, one or more options will be made available to the client for their review and comment.

Step 7 - Client review/approval

After receiving the proposed designs from step 6A or 6B, the client shall review the designs and either approve them, or return them with comments for further modification (back to step 6A or 6B).

Step 8 - DNS pointers set

If the Client owns the domain name then the DNS pointers will have to be reset to the pointers that will provide.  If the Client is not able or uncomfortable with doing this, will make the required changes for a fee of $25.

DNS pointers are set automatically for domains that owns.

Please note that changing the DNS pointers can take 24-48 hours to propogate throughout the internet.  During this time the website may point to either the old or new site, or return an error message.

Step 9 - create site

At this point, will create the site on our server and give access to the Client.  The basic setup will include a default home page, login/logout page, content management system, my account access, new user registration, and a privacy policy page. will also create any email accounts requested by the Client.  See our email accounts page for more information.

If your account includes PayPal access the information you provide will be placed into the configuration files.  If you need help setting up your PayPal account, please contact us for information on fees.

Step 10 - Client build/maintain site content

At this point, the Client has full access to the site, and the site is live.

Now using our Content Management System the Client can add, edit or delete pages and their content, upload files like pictures, PDFs or sound files and display them on the site.

At this point, some Clients find themselves overwhelmed with the prospect of putting up several or several dozen pages.  If you find yourself needing some further help, we can provide assistance in creating your content and organizing it effectively.  Contact us for cost information for this service.
